COURSE SUMMARY
The ALLMI Slinger/Signaller Course content is very comprehensive. This enables cardholders are able to use their skills when performing Slinger / Signaller duties with any type of lifting equipment, not just lorry loaders. The Slinger / Signaller Course consists of 13 modules. The course direction is one day for experienced candidates and a minimum of two days for novice candidates. A maximum of four candidates can attend a course. Both courses culminate in a written and practical examination.
Assessment Process
The assessment process is set by ALLMI Ltd and administered by the instructor. It consists of two theoretical assessments and one practical. The theoretical assessment consists of a set of multiple choice and ‘open’ questions. The practical assessment is designed to identify whether the candidate has the appropriate practical skills to perform his / her duties as a Slinger / Signaller safely and efficiently.

Course Completion
Upon successful completion of the course, every candidate will receive an identity card and certificate and will be registered on the ALLMI database. The certificate and identity card are valid for five years after which time refresher training and assessments will need to be undertaken. Candidates also receive the ALLMI Slinger / Signaller manual, which is used as a reference guide throughout their career.
CPC Course
All ALLMI Courses can qualify for training hours towards Driver CPC periodic training including the Slinger/Signaller course.

ALLMI Training
The strength of ALLMI training comes from the technical training knowledge on it’s Training Standards Committee. The Committee is made up for training and technical professionals from all the major loader crane manufacturers and importers within the UK. In addition, the Health and Safety Executive is represented. The Committee develops, consults upon and maintains all the training standards set by ALLMI. ALLMI Operator training is the UK’s only lorry loader training programme to be commended by the Health & Safety Executive.
ALLMI’s core aims are:
- To promote the safe use of lorry loaders.
- To ensure that the Association is involved in the formulation of any legislation which affects the industry’s interests.
- To promote compliance with training requirements embodied in current legislation.
- ALLMI has members drawn from all parts of the industry, including manufacturers / importers, service agents, ancillary equipment manufacturers / suppliers and fleet owners.
- All members share the same objective of promoting safe use and best practice.
